Gillie Lake

The traditional 3rd grade field trip to Gillie Lake was not able to be held last year so the school principal worked with us in planning for a brand new outing. It worked out so well that it launched a new yearly tradition: an end of the school year family fun outing to Gillie Lake!

Use our Google Form to RSVP so that we can better plan for the number of guests and to sign up to volunteer.

This event will be held again this year, rain or shine, on June 19th and ALL WEST students and families are invited:

Park is open 9-9.

Beach is open 11-6.

WEST will be there ALL day.

Snacks from 12-4.

Face painting 12-2.

Balloon Animals by Paul from The Twin Magicians 2:30-4:30.

The Fairmount Community Library will also be there (2:30-4:30) and asked us to make sure that everyone knows that registration is open for the FCL SUMMER READING PROGRAM! (https://fairmountlibrary.org/summer-reading)

Register online at https://fairmountlibny08.readsquared.com/ or download ReadSquared in the App store or on Google Play, and sign your family up for FCL summer reading and start tracking the books they read this summer.

It’s easy, fun, and they’ll earn points and prizes right away. (The prizes are free mini-golf, free ice cream, and free pizza.) Kids read 20 minutes per
day to earn a prize. Families using ReadSquared for summer reading tracking get EARLY ACCESS to all Fairmount Community Library summer program sign-ups.

Let’s get reading together!

See our flyer for the basic information:

Pavilion 1 is the one marked with the red #1 on their map. (Closest pavilion to the beach.)

Please respect all of the park rules, including:

Do not park on the road. Do not park on the grass. Do not block the driveway.

Carry in/carry out trash.

NO dogs allowed.

Parking:

We ask that you use either the small parking lot near Pavilion #1 (accessed via Gillie Brook Rd) or the very large parking lot opposite from the beach (accessed via Sands Rd). Pavilion #2 is already rented to another group and #3 may be rented by the event day, so please be good park citizens and let those groups use the small dirt parking lot closest to those pavilions.
